Raine Hozier Byrne, BA, MA (hons) Fine Art (painting), is currently living and working in Wicklow, Ireland. Her work has been exhibited all over the world, with recent shows in New York, Beijing, Shanghai, Seoul, Tokyo, London, Paris, and the Hugh Lane Gallery, Dublin.
Recent awards include Wicklow County Council Arts Office Arts Group Bursary, a studio and mentorship award from DLR Arts Office, and an Artlinks Bursary from Wicklow county council.
Raine's work is an examination of the contemporary sublime, subjective perception, memory, and loss.
Her work has been included in many private and public collections. As well as serving as curator of the Wicklow Film Festival, she is part of an ongoing collaboration called The Tellurometer Project, and was a founder member of Outpost Studios. On the 20th February 2018, Outpost Studios burnt to the ground, resulting in the loss of over thirty years of Raine’s work.
